Blinky Activities and Notes:
The core activities for this first session are to get the Arduino IDE downloaded, running successfully on your machine, and getting the on board LED to blink under your control.
The point of all of this is to assure that you have the tools to communicate with your Arduino and can demonstrate that ability by changing the blink pattern of the LED.
One thing we did learn and is that not all operating systems have the appropriate drivers installed for the Arduino style devices. This is particularly true if you find yourself using a cloned Arduino at some point which is likely to require downloading a specific device driver to support it. Be thoughtful since it is a little uncomfortable to upload live code from a computer/server in China or Russia.
If you are extra enthusiastic you can sort out how to get your LED to blink SOS or some other Morse code.
