I know that we have all had less than thrilling experiences exploring the user manuals for hardware and software that we use. In the case of the JupyterLab tools I find that I do use them regularly and find them helpful though sometimes difficult to figure out. Learning to communicate clearly and effectively in written documentation is a core goal of this sequence. LaTeX is a markup language that is used across the scientific and engineering communities to create publication quality documents. For those who go on to graduate school you will most likely use LaTeX to write your thesis. LaTeX is a bit arcane and so a lite version of this tool is Markdown.
