It seems like a natural progression to follow the last journal assignment about practice and greatness with one that focuses on the idea of incremental progress. After this I promise I will stop sending you to Freakonomics:) I think I'm hoping that this journal assignment gets you thinking about those moments when it finally starts to make sense (whatever it is) and our natural wish that we could have gotten to that point more directly and quickly.

Here is a link to the podcast:

What connections do you see (or not) between the ideas of intentional practice from our last journal assignment and thoughtfully picking your next incremental step?

What is your personal experience of the value of incremental effort and emergent success (I don't think that's the word they used in the podcast but it works for me)?

What relationship do you see between rote practice of some process and incremental development of skills?
