Purpose:
If you have staged your Simple Model well then now is the time to take steps to begin to deal the range of possible improvements that result in a more realistic model. Be aware that my focus is on how clearly you 'grow' your way from the simple model to more a more complex model. Please don't go straight from the simple to the final version -- that's a recipe for trouble. Document, document, document -- describe what you're doing and keep that description up to date. What we are practicing in part is good workplace project management. At any moment you should be prepared to hand me your notebook and I should be able to make sense of it without having to figure out the code for myself.
Process:
I think I said it all in the introduction....
Here are the elements I expect to see in your Jupyter notebook for this lab.
Please Note!: Most of the requirements above are about the written part of the notebook. Please take heed. This initial project lab is much more about your ability to describe and present your project than it is about the actual coding.I: Title and atribution etc etc. Who is writing this notebook and how could someone get in contact with the author? Every notebook starts with this stuff.
II: A written description of each incremental improvement that you made to the simple model from the previous lab. Such improvements need to be described mathematically as well as verbally and should include references (hot links) to relevant sources or papers that you have used as you developed your improvements.
III: While you may feel a need to get to a certain place in this process of improving your simple model be aware that I am primarily interested in your process. A couple of well thought out improvements that are clearly explained and documented is more important than a fully implemented and very complex model that no one can figure out even if it produces cool looking output.
- Project: More Complex Model:
1) Meet the requirements stated above and turn in the pdf of your notebook!
