Things You'll Need for Class

(besides stuff to write on, an infectious desire to learn, and a tolerance for oft-recycled bad jokes)
Prerequisites
 MTH 105: MTH 098 (preferred), MTH 095, or instructor approval
Technology
In class, whenever possible, we'll use manual methods to arrive at results; in this way, you'll be able to see what the math is "doing". As the song goes, "No one knows what they're talkin' about if what they're talkin' don't make sense to me."

When we need technology to crunch numbers, we have a few options we'll explore:
  • We can use Google as a calculator. If you've never done this before, I think you'll like it.
  • When possible, we'll use spreadsheets (like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets). Don't worry if you've never used one before! We'll learn together.
  • We can use web-based resources to assist us.
